Wartime – There is no time, like wartime
The Dark Legion has been running rampart these past few years and their empire has considerably grown during their warmongering campaign to conquer the rest of the free world. Now they are trying to come for you, so you muster your strength, take command of your own army and face them on the numerous battlefields of the new free to play title Wartime.
In Wartime you’re becoming the commander of your own military force in a world that is turn asunder by the armies of the Dark Legion. It falls into your responsibilities to mount a strike force that is capable of repelling the invaders while maintaining a safe space for your people at home. Build gold mines, barracks and all the other needed components for a well-functioning war machinery and crush your foes – whoever they may be.
Build a powerful economy
Things aren’t looking exactly peachy when you start out as a commander in Wartime. The latest attack from the Dark Legion was barely fought off and its only a matter of time before they come again. You have to use the time you’ve been given and build a strong economy that can mount the costs of the impending war. Upgrade and maintain your mines in order to stay on top of your game and always have a steady flow of income. In Wartime this is done by simply dragging buildings of the same level together and within no time they merge and become a building of the next level. Its really pleasing to witness when you just drag a handful of objects together and see them merge into something more powerful.
By air, land and sea
Your initial units are bound by land and include mostly normal infantry unity that can be upgraded to some extent. Later in the game you gain access to naval and airborne units that can further assist you in your endeavors. Furthermore, different types of units do better against others so its not really recommended to put all your eggs into one basket. Make sure that your army is able to adapt or otherwise you may pull the short end of the stick. Also, the same rules that applied for your structures, do also apply for your army. Keep merging units and make sure that their overall level is always as high as possible. If you can’t merge them any further its time to invest into upgrades that allow expanding the upgrade limit and also provider other neat and useful upgrades for your army.
Smoke your rivals
Aside from the Dark Legion that conquered most of the landscape, there are also numerous other players on the surface of the planet that may want to take a piece of you. Growing with the help of your own economy is slow and steady but its not nearly as fast as raiding other players, taking their gold and bringing it back home. In order to prevent such a dreadful fate, its highly recommended to join an alliance that provides backup and helps you out should you ever come under attack by other players.
