The basics of economy: In Elvenar it’s all about your resources. Finding the right balance between income in the form of money, happiness of your citizens, generated supplies and the strength of your army is not an easy task. In that regard Elvenar really caught the spirit of games like The Settlers and other similar titles, since even though most of the actions take a fair chunk of time, the overall gameplay and economy building has a strong resemblance to the fathers of the city building genre. One step ahead through technology: Bringing a knife to a gunfight is usually bad idea and it is the same in Elvenar. Staying ahead of your opponents is as important as continuous improvements to your resource generating buildings and unit producing structures.  To be able to do so, you will eventually have to research new technologies, such as the secrets to process steel, which will allow you to cast steel bolts for your crossbowmen, powerful military units that have specialized in ranged warfare. Both the character and horse have profiles that show essential information about them. Via the horse’s profile, you can see your horse’s mood to know how happy they are. A full mood bar means that your horse is very happy, however, each bar decrease means unhappiness is setting in; to boost their mood, feed them or give them water. After getting introduced to caring for your horse, you will be introduced to Maya, a member of the stable who teaches you the benefit of working in the stable. She then introduces you to Jenna who is more knowledgeable about how things work in Moonland. Jenna takes her time to teach you horse riding basics by running around the square track and also jumping over an obstacle. Once the basic teaching is completed, you are introduced to Loretta, a leader of the Bobcat club who is known for her strictness. Here as well, you are asked to prove your worth and go through specific learning to become the best – because only then can you become a member of the club. Star Stable allows players to participate in quests they desire; you can accept to partake in a quest anytime you desire – as long as your head is in the game. It is well-designed and intuitive with easy-to-understand instructions. This game has a map that shows different locations in the game and also offers direction during tasks. Raising an army, attaching hero units to your men and leading them into battle is also pretty crisp. Taking the role of a benevolent god, you are about to descent onto Aelion, a threatened and well designed world, in order to protect those that need to be protected. The class system in Skyforge tackled a major issue of most MMORPG’s. Imagine you played your class up to level 100 but at some point you just feel like playing a different class. Usually that would mean that you have to go back to the character creation menu, create a new class and start over from Level 1. This type of board reminded us of the Sphere Grid from the famous and well known Final Fantasy titles. Divided into different areas, this board becomes your ultimate character development tool and allows you to invest your skill points in different areas. But choose wisely because the Ascension Atlas for sure also determines your effectiveness with each of the classes. Stunning graphics: Also in terms of visuals, the Fantasy Action MMORPG title Skyforge looks simply amazing. The Cry-Engine is working wonders and indeed it’s a very rare thing for a free to play game to have such nice graphics. The models, the animations, the landscape, the enemies and mobs and the overall level of detail is definitely a huge plus for the game. Furthermore it’s this nostalgic mix between rural landscapes and sci-fi themed content, which really helps with the overall immersion and emphasizes the feeling of playing a high end or triple A game. Fluent gameplay and combat: Thankfully the games is not just good looking. The gameplay and especially the combat system are almost as slick as the graphics of this game. Choosing between dozens of abilities is a hard choice and using them properly can be even harder – in a good sense. Skyforge is not simple “click to cast” adventure, it really requires you to aim for your target, position yourself properly and select the appropriate combination of spells for your target at hand. This boils down to a very dynamic and fast-paced gameplay, where positioning and strategic decisions are a huge factor. Roughly speaking, this is a fair description but Star Conflict has the potential to be recognized as much more than that. Why do we say that? You are about to find out. Fast-Paced Space Shooter: Aside from EVE-Online there are currently very few games that give you the opportunity to climb onboard a spaceship and engage in 3D-combat. The fast paced 3D-combat in space might be a bit confusing at first, but with several mechanics like target locking and homing missiles, you will soon get the hang of it. Once you have mastered the controls you will then find yourself dashing through asteroid belts, shaking off those pesky missile that someone has just fired at you. A Ship for Every Captain: The ships in Star Conflict are another strong reason to play the game. At the beginning of the game, you have the choice between several different types and each faction has their own selection on offer. There are slow destroyers, very fast interceptors, bulky repair and support ships and several other types of spacecraft that you can choose from. Every ship has its own set of weaponry and a unique ability that comes with the type of ship you have selected. For example, Tackler-class ships have the ability to cloak for a few seconds, which makes them great at picking off high value targets, and then vanishing once the deed is done – something that reminds us of the familiar rogue class from other games. PvP Focused Gameplay: Most of the action in Star Conflict revolves around fast paced PvP battles and the continuous improvement of your space vessel. Therefore the game provides several sorts of matches, like the classic variations of Team Death Match and Domination. Once you have managed to claim victory on a given map, you get around 60 seconds to scavenge the battlefield for extra resources and the occasional rare item that could reward you with another devastating weapon upgrade. Therefore PvP becomes something that you actually want to do, and not something that you have to do. Nonetheless, the developers at Gaijin Entertainment are currently working on a huge PvE update that is supposed to add specific endgame content for all those players who also enjoy the occasional PvE raid. We already broke a lance in this game, and here is what we have to say about our experiences. Get into the skin of a venerable lady or a strong knight, and have a special adventure. Depending on the part you want to take, the focus of your gameplay will be either on the farm simulation or rather on the fighting, which almost makes Knights and Brides two games in one. Knight or noble lady: As mentioned before, you have to make an important decision in the beginning, establishing which way your gameplay is going. For our test we decided on the knight because we just couldn’t miss out on the duels. Had we decided on the lady, then our base wouldn’t have looked like a tournament arena, but it would have been a beautiful piece of land in which we would have spent our time. Considering all this we must say that Knights and Brides really goes a special road that we’ve never seen any other browser game take, which makes this game truly unique. So thinking of a way to throw your opponent out of his saddle from the beginning will win you the lady’s favor quickly. A short but nice tutorial introduced us to the game world and before we knew it, we were surrounded by robbers and rogues. We fought in duel after duel, but it wasn’t until we played again as a lady that we realized this game is actually two games. The focus here wasn’t on duels anymore, but on growing a garden, and we found it so nice that we forgot all about the knight life we led before. We really believe that Knights and Brides is a unique game that can truly keep up with the competition.
