The game principle
Knights and Brides can be classified as an elegant mix between farm simulation and medieval tournament fights. Get into the skin of a venerable lady or a strong knight, and have a special adventure. Depending on the part you want to take, the focus of your gameplay will be either on the farm simulation or rather on the fighting, which almost makes Knights and Brides two games in one.
Knight or noble lady:
As mentioned before, you have to make an important decision in the beginning, establishing which way your gameplay is going. For our test we decided on the knight because we just couldn’t miss out on the duels. Had we decided on the lady, then our base wouldn’t have looked like a tournament arena, but it would have been a beautiful piece of land in which we would have spent our time. Considering all this we must say that Knights and Brides really goes a special road that we’ve never seen any other browser game take, which makes this game truly unique. Basically, when choosing your character you set the foundation for two unique gaming experiences that allow you to place the focus on what you enjoy most. A great move, if you ask us.
Riding into duels and raising sheep:
You can ride your way to success on horseback, but if you prefer plough blades over swords, you can play this game that way. Both ways to play this game have their own attractions. While the lady tends to all kinds of animals and citrus fruits in her rich gardens with the help of her gnomes, the knight already sharpens his weapons and polishes his gear for a new fight. There are lots of rivals, and if you prove your courage to your lady in impressive duels you can win her heart. No wonder that the fights are really tough. Duels in Knights and Brides aren’t simply a matter of equipment but a matter of fighting system, which is similar to the rock–paper-scissors principle. Before every fighting round you decide on the action your knight is going to take, and if you shatter your opponent’s shield in the first round frontally, then your opponent will be much weaker in the following rounds. So thinking of a way to throw your opponent out of his saddle from the beginning will win you the lady’s favor quickly.

Conclusions about Knights and Brides
Knights and Brides was quite a surprise for us. In our first game test we just chose on of the available knights and plunged directly into battle. A short but nice tutorial introduced us to the game world and before we knew it, we were surrounded by robbers and rogues. We fought in duel after duel, but it wasn’t until we played again as a lady that we realized this game is actually two games. The focus here wasn’t on duels anymore, but on growing a garden, and we found it so nice that we forgot all about the knight life we led before. We really believe that Knights and Brides is a unique game that can truly keep up with the competition. We will surely keep at it in the following days, and who knows—maybe we’ll even meet each other in the world of Knight and Brides.
