Queen of Dragons – Earn your royal blessing
MMORPG – While it is becoming increasingly cold outside we decided to stay inside and spend some of our time with a new and free to play to MMORPG. This time around we got our hands on Queen of Dragons, a game that could heat things up considerably. Check out our review to find out why.
Sharing the classic features of most given MMORPGs, it will take you some time before your character in Queen of Dragons becomes a fully geared war machine. Starting out as the average nobody, you have to fight local bandits and other small crime gangsters before you can even think about tackling stronger foes. Eventually, taking one step at a time you will begin to evolve your character and finally not only accumulate gold but also other riches that help you hire new team mates and overcome even harder obstacles. They way to the top is a long winded road in Queen of Dragons and only a few have made it there. Will you be among them?
The trifecta of playable classes:
In terms of playable classes Queen of Dragonss is keeping it pretty much down to earth. As of now you get to choose between the Warrior, the Ranger and the nimble Assassin. In our playtest we tried out the Warrior and the Assassin class for most of the time and had quite some fun stabbing and hewing our enemies to shreds. As you can imagine, the Warrior class excels at brutal melee engagements and is very well able to take a few hits before it even starts noticing a substantial loss of hit points. That is somewhat different when you play the Assassin. Sure, as a master of poison and human anatomy, your hits deal substantially more damage but taking hits isn’t your forte. Thankfully your agility plays a huge role in avoiding damage and becoming a deadly blade storm is only one of the things that defines the unique playstyle of this nimble class.
Endless character customization:
Another strong feature of Queen of Dragons is the games extensive character customization. While we only did unlock a few of the cosmetic enhancements, such as glorious wings for example, we saw quite a few people that had their characters completely decked out with some of the most exquisite clothes and exceedingly rare items. While it is true that you do start as a nobody, it is certainly also true that eventually you can fine tune your character to become an absolutely unique appearance on the battlegrounds of Queen of Dragons. No matter if its mounts, wings or collecting dozens of costumes – this game has you covered.
Gather your allies:
While some obstacles can be overcome on your own, the later stages of the game become significantly easier when you bring friends. While you do get the opportunity to hire mighty Battle Queens, which basically give this game their name, you can also group up with other players from all over the world and fight side by side against the numerous monsters that await you in the darkest dungeons of this MMORPG. What cannot be killed by one sword arm will eventually be beaten by a group of brave adventurers. And always keep in mind that the higher the risk, the higher is your reward. Cooperative gameplays has rarely been this rewarding.
- Free-to-play: Just sign up once and you are good to go. Queen of Dragons is absolutely free-to-play.
- Three playable classes: Choose between Ranger, Warrior and Assassin and dominate the battlegrounds.
- Endless character customization: Change the appearance of your character with countless items, mounts and other accessories.
- Gather your allies: Form a band of heroes and overpower even the strongest foes in cooperative battles.
The Bottom Line
Queen of Dragons is a two-sided MMORPG. On the one side you have a game that caters to the most basic requirements of any given MMORPG, such as having at least three playable classes and a quest system that mostly relies on auto pathing instead of real freedom. If you don’t mind these things though, Queen of Dragons is also a game that has a colorful art style, welcoming community and countless of late game achievements that you can unravel alongside your friends or guild mates. All in all this turns Queen of Dragonsinto an MMORPG that is definitely enough to bring you through these cold winter months.
